Alfonso Gallardo Group, whose head offices are located in Jerez de los Caballeros, purchased in May 2007 two of the main newspapers in Andalucia: 100% from Correo de Andalucia (Sevilla) and 59,27% from Diario de Jaen (Jaen). Both of them belong to Prisa Group.
The entry in the media sector is included in the diversification and growth strategy that Alfonso Gallardo Group is developing.
Alfonso Gallardo Group confirmed the boards of directors and took the commintment to keep the same direction that has helped to reach the present position as informative reference in the national and local media.
Correo de Andalucia is the oldest newspaper in Sevilla. It was brought to light in February 1st 1899 and, during its 108 years , it has become one of the newspapers that it has been writing all the information day by day along 3 centuries.
Through its career, Correo de Andalucia has being through different stages and it has been adapting in the right way to the new times, to the new technologies and to the new journalism.

Diario de Jaen is a general information newspaper, edited in Jaen, written all of it in Spanish and it is distributed at morning time.It was published at first time in April 1st in 1941, and this fact makes Diario de Jaen a reference in Andalucia and Spain.
According to the latest information by "Organization for the Justification of the Diffusion"(OJD in Spanish) is the newspaper for Jaen that sells more copies and it is the leading newspaper in Jaen.
Its Local and Provincial Sections are the most prestigious ones.In order to give the reader the latest information in all Spanish communities, Diario de Jaen has one of the most important home correspondents network of this country.

Within the diversitfication strategy , Alfonso Gallardo Group bought 25% Odiel Informacion in December 2006 which has become a reference in Huelva and its county.
Odiel Informacion comes from the old "Odiel" , which started in the thirties last century. It dissapeared in 1983 and it was founded again in 1999 with its present name.
This newspaper shows Huelva social life and customs. Moreover, it goes deeper into politics and supports Recreativo de Huelva (which is the most important local football team). It has a digital edition as well as a paper edition.
