Refineria Balboa will result in the creation of quality, permanent jobs (managerial positions; engineers responsible for the different plant units; team managers; technicians in charge of the different departments; shift managers; panel operators; field operators; maintenance specialists, etc.).
It is estimated that once it is running Refineria Balboa will generate some 3,000 jobs, direct and indirect. During the phase of construction, estimates point to the creation of 1,800 jobs on average, with that figure rising to 3,500 when lots of workers are needed.
With regards to indirect employment, it will give rise to new companies in the fields of industrial maintenance, transport, propane and butane, construction of infrastructures, catering services, pipeline maintenance and new oil tanker construction, among others.
